Kong Recipes, From Kong (BBB highly recommends Kong!)

Maverick got a great box from Kong, after buying the Heartguard and Nexguard for him from the vet. They sent a link for him to get the box from Kong for FREE! I was very excited when the box came, (Maverick was too, since he loves his Kongs!) as I have been filling the Kong (s) and putting them into the freezer. When I went to throw the paper away, I was amazed to find recipes from them on the other side of the page! WOO HOO! (And you can see recipes we have used in a prior blog post on Enrichment...)

Then I went and looked on line and found some more recipes...so I figured you all might like to see some of them, and I figured I would share! Again, credit goes to Kong for posting them!

Candy Corn
from Caleb

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • KONG Classic

Spoon small amount of banana into silicone mold tray. Mix cinnamon with pumpkin and spoon small amount into silicone mold tray. Mix maple syrup with yogurt and fill the remainder of the silicone mold tray. Freeze for 1-2 hours. Stuff KONG with candy corn treats!

*Tip: Freeze each layer for about 20 minutes to prevent the layers from mixing. 

Cube Chillers

Ingredients:

  • 12 small KONG Snacks
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • KONG Classic

Place ingredients into ice cube tray and freeze until solid. Place the frozen cube into KONG Classic! 

Sweet n’ Savory

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup died sweet potato
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon KONG Easy Treat Liver
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and seal with KONG Easy Treat Liver and freeze for greater challenge. 

Earth Day

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh peas
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup shredded zucchini
  • 1/2 cup brown rice
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Oakley’s Oatmeal Cookie Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1 chopped up banana
  • KONG Classic
  • KONG Peanut Butter Spread

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Fido’s Farmhouse Feast

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 whole carrots
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • KONG Classic
  • KONG Easy Treat Peanut Butter

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze.

* This recipe will fill several KONGs depending on the size used. 

Thanksgiving Feast

  • 1 cup shredded turkey
  • 1/2 Cup Canned Pumpkin
  • 1/4 Cup Dried Cranberries
  • KONG Classic
  • 1 Tablespoon KONG Peanut Butter Spread

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Pup-Permint

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup diced apples
  • KONG Classic
  • KONG Peanut Butter Spread

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Frosty Froyo

  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 handful of ground up KONG Peanut Butter Snacks
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of KONG Peanut Butter Easy Treat
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs, seal with KONG Peanut Butter Easy Treat and freeze for greater challenge. 

Summer Picnic

  • 1 cup cooked ground turkey

  • 1/2 low fat cup cream cheese
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Chicken Pot Pie

  • 1/2 Cup Cooked Chicken
  • 1/2 Cup Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Frozen Peas and Carrots

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

Sweet Summer Smoothie

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Plain yogurt
  • KONG Peanut Butter Easy Treat

Licks & Love

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 3 oz Cup of Honest Kitchen Love – Grain-Free Beef Dog Food
  • KONG Peanut Butter
  • KONG Classic
  • Strawberries (sliced in heart shapes)

Fill Honest Kitchen Love Cup with warm water to fill line. Stir together and wait 3 minutes. Chop 1/2 cup of strawberries into heart shapes. Put aside 1 sliced strawberry and combine strawberries with Honest Kitchen. Stuff mixture into KONG Classic. Seal with KONG Peanut Butter and place strawberry heart on top. 

Toby’s Tasty Treat

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Zucchini
  • 1 Tablespoon KONG Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Potato
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for greater challenge. 

There were a couple more recipes on the paper in the box, that weren't online...Here goes:

Spring Fever 1/2 c plain yogurt, 1/2  c kibble, 1/2 c green beans, 1/4 c chopped strawberries, Kong Classic. Mix all ingredients together. Split between Kongs and freeze for a greater challenge.

Birthday Carrot Cake 1/2 c oatmeal, 1/2 c shredded carrots, 1/2 c applesauce, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 T cream cheese, Kong Classic. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split between Kongs and freeze for a greater challenge.

Apple Cheddar Pupcakes 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 c applesauce, 1/4 c diced apple, 1/2 c rolled oats, 2 T honey, Kong Classic. Mix all together in bowl. Split between Kongs and freeze for a greater challenge.
